RUN: Milton Keynes Half Marathon

IMG_7456Yesterday I ran my second Half Marathon after a few more months of training, although I dont think I trained as hard as the last one as I was out pretty much all of January with injury. It was a great race because the route was close to home and still nice and scenic based in and around Willen Lake in Milton Keynes. The atmosphere was better than expected, plenty of runners and lots of support. I highly recommend this event to runners of all ability, especially if you are looking for a good warm up for the London Marathon. There are the 5k, 10k, Half Marathon and 20 Mile Races all held on the day. http://www.mkrun.co.uk/

I managed to complete the event myself in 1:50:40 which was better than expected due to my lack of training in comaparison to Royal Parks, and that I was again aiming for under 2 hours and so yet again this has set me a new Personal Best to work with. I think I need to work harder to maintain a consistant pace therefore thats my next challenge. I want to break that 1hr 50 mark! Roll on race number three in October!

RUN: The Royal Parks Half Marathon

marathonYesterday I ran my first ever Half Marathon after months of training. It was a great race because the route was fantastic and so beautifully scenic. The atmosphere was unreal and couldn’t have been any better! Highly recommend this event to runners of all ability. https://royalparkshalf.com/

I managed to complete the event myself in 1:51:34 which was better than I expected as I was aiming for under 2 hours and therefore this has set me a new Personal Best to work with. I also managed to raise over £1,200 for Cancer Research UK which I could not be more pleased about, it was way more than I was ever expecting to achieve! I cant wait for the next half already!
